La Bohème, Giacomo Puccini

49th Opera Season

La Bohème is an opera by Giacomo Puccini -in four acts-, based on a libretto of the Italians Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illicia. The play explains a short passage of the life of four young artists in Paris in 1830. The plot is focused on the love story between Mimì and Rodolphe; but this relationship is only an excuse to project a naturalist image of the atmosphere that surrounded bohemian Paris in the first decades of the 19th century.

Nudity

Modern Dance

Nudity is a poetic proposal on how to love oneself. Two characters on stage, who display a concept of polarity and travel, from death to love. The Daniel Abreu Company, founded in 2004, is one of the most remarkable on a national level. Choreographies by Abreu are defined through the use of simple tools of the performing language, the power and personality of dancers and a sensitive sound atmosphere.

Suite OCD num. 6

Music – Dance

Suite OCD num. 6 is the eighth show by the troupe Les Impuxibles, an artistic merging between the pianist Clara Peya and the dancer, Ariadna Peya. Sisters, authors and performers continue to work on issues that are in need of further exposure. Now, with Suite OCD num. 6, they discuss mental suffering.

“It has always been with us. but only recently have we started to raise awareness about what it means to live with such issues. In this performance we analyse it from two angles: what does mental suffering mean, as an individual and as part of this society. We are touched by it personally because Clara was diagnosed with OCD [Obsessive Compulsive Disorder] 11 years ago.”
